William D. Frank

March 26, 1933 – January 26, 2018

William D. Frank, 84, Altoona, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Pittsburgh, son of the late Robert A. and Anna (Ferko) Frank.  He married Leanore M. “Lee” Maratto on October 22, 1958.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters:  Patricia Ann Frank of Inwood, WV, Lynne Ann Frank of Rochester, and Jacqueline Ann Frank of West Palm Beach, FL; a grandson, Luke W. J. Reynolds of West Palm Beach, FL; and a sister, Roberta A. Lucchino of Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert A. Frank, II of Pittsburgh.

William earned an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Penn State University, and retired as a State Supervisor of Circulation for the Pittsburgh Press & Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, with 36 years of service.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the Army Security Agency (ASA).

He was a lifetime member of the Garfield Club in Pittsburgh, and the Bavarian Aid Society.  He enjoyed bowling and golf.  He was also a professional photographer who shot weddings and portraits.

At William’s request, there will be no viewing or service.  Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave. Altoona, PA.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in William’s memory to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA  16602.
