Therese F. Schneider, 85, Hollidaysburg, died Sunday morning at her residence after a brief illness.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Lubby) Cronin. On Oct. 3, 1954, she married George C. Schneider in Brooklyn, N.Y., and he preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2004.

Surviving are a son, Tom (Dee) of Martinsburg; two daughters: Mary Hoover (Jim) of Hollidaysburg, and Patt Keith (Ray) of Patton; seven grandchildren: Emily Lucey (Patrick), Megan Snyder (Bill), Andrew Schneider, Michael Hoover, Ashley Cotto (Johnny), Cathryn Frank and Mark Frank; and three great-grandchildren: Silas Snyder and Zofia and Parker Cotto.

She was preceded in death by three infant children: Carol Ann, George Charles Jr. and Robert Joseph. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. 

Therese was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School, Brooklyn, N.Y. She had been employed by Lever Brothers, New York Telephone Co. and retired from Freedom Rentals in 2013 after 20 years of service.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lakemont, as well as the Red Hat Society, Crimson Curves Chapter. She enjoyed travelling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lakemont, Monsignor Michael Becker celebrant. A private committal will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
