Stephen B. Krider

Stephen B. Krider, 58, Altoona, passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.

Steve was born in Altoona, son of the late George W. and Mary Jane (Shaner) Krider.  On February 18, 1995, he married Suzanne M. Reimer who survives.

Surviving are his wife; a brother, Thomas W. Krider of Altoona; brothers-in-law: Steven Reimer and Scott (Heather) Reimer and Shawn (Heather) Reimer; sister-in-law, Sharon Zelnosky (Scott); nephews: Connor and Zachary Reimer and Troy Zelnosky; nieces: Kira, Hannah and Julia Zelnosky and Avery Reimer; uncle, William Shaner; aunt, Rebecca Schraff and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Beth Ann Krider-Butler; sister-in-law, Amy Reimer; grandparents: Dutch and Harriet Shaner and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Steve was a 1980 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and Williamsport Community College.  He was a US Army Veteran, serving as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and retired as truck driver.

He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Steve was Third Degree member of Knights of Columbus and also was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and Cesare Battisti Club.

Steve played on several baseball and softball teams where he won numerous batting titles.  He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Notre Dame University.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church by Fr. James Dugan.  Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery with military honors.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2716, Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601 or Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School, 2400 Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602 in Steve’s memory.
