Samuel A. Macaluso

Samuel A. Macaluso, 92, Patton passed away June 9, 2017 at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.  He was born January 20, 1925 in Spangler the son of Mike and Minnie (Pasquale) Macaluso.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary (Sylvani) Macaluso, whom was the love of his life for 71 years, brother and sisters Jim Macaluso, Jenny Rose, Elaine Vislosky and grandson-in-law Kody Serges  He is survived by children Valerie (Steve) Marana, Cresson; Mike (Grace) Macaluso, Patton; Gerard (Julie) Macaluso, Virgina Beach; grandchildren Steve Marana, Tina Marana-Linder, Chris (Becky) Marana, Michelle Marana, Michael (Abigail Hite) Macaluso, Samuel Macaluso, Monique Serges, Miranda (Ryan Taylor) Macaluso; great grandchildren Kylie Marana, Katie Marana, Krystin Linder, Zoe Serges; brothers and sister Joe Macaluso, Hollidaysburg; Ron Macalus, Patton; Rose Bodeck, Detroit, MI and numerous nieces and nephews.  Sam served in the US Navy during World War II and retired as an Insurance agent after many years of service.  He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton and Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed all types of dancing, hunting and fishing.  Friends will be received from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1004 North Fifth Avenue Patton, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.  Funeral mass 11:00 am Wednesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton by Benedictine Fathers.  Committal St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Full Military Rites will be accorded by John White VFW Post 779 and Walter McCoy American Legion Post 614.  (
