Rosemary Kwolek

Aug. 25, 1928 – May 11, 2018

 

Rosemary Kwolek, 89, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Beale Avenue, Altoona, passed away Friday at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Victor and Placede (Cawley) Little.  She married Leo A. Kwolek who preceded her in death on January 8, 1972.

Surviving are two sons:  Michael Kwolek of Strongsville, Ohio and Thomas Kwolek of Ardmore; five daughters:  Donna (William) Ellerman of Silver Spring, Md, Rosemarie Huyett of Old Zionsville and Karen (Tony) Nasralla of Cresson, Beth (Thomas) Moore of Altoona, Patricia (Brent) Mattas of Perrysburg, Ohio; twelve grandchildren: Angela, Will, Jeff, Alison, Erika, Alex, James, Maria, Shannon, Michael, Jenna and Leah; nine great-grandchildren: two sisters: Joan (Vic) Wilson of Bellefonte and Lois Dullinger of Altoona; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Burger of Hollidaysburg and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Maureen; a sister, Rita Burger; son-in-law, Keith Huyett and a brother-in-law, Joseph Dullinger.

Rosemary was a 1946 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and retired from Home Nursing Agency as an aide. Previously she was employed by A&P.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.  Rosemary also was a volunteer for the American Heart Association and was a member of Horseshoe Seniors.  She enjoyed gardening, dancing and spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from 3-7p.m., on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc. 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church by Fr. James Dugan.  Committal will be at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Altoona.
