Rose Marie Stultz

Date of Death: 5/18/2020

Rose Marie Stultz

May 3, 1927 – May 18, 2020

Rose Marie Stultz, 93, Delaware, formerly of Altoona, passed away suddenly on Monday in Delaware. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Gockel) Rollason of Altoona. She was born in Altoona on May 1st, 1927. Her birth certificate said May 3rd because she was born at home on a weekend and they didn’t file paperwork back then until the new week.  It was a common joke that it was done so she could celebrate her birthday on two separate days.

Surviving are her step-son, Tim (Gloria) Stultz of Tyrone; step-daughter, Penni Cyphert of Delaware; her beloved niece, Nancy (Marv) Livermore of Altoona; her great nephews: Jeff (Kelly) Livermore and Brian (Melissa) Livermore; great niece, Charla (John) DeJager; her great-great nieces and nephews: Ashli, Troy, Jesse, Sydney, Sadie, Grace and Joe.  Also surviving is her adored granddaughter, Mindy (Tim) Rogers of Wilmington, Delaware and her precious great-granddaughter, Bella Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Farrell in 1972 from whom she gained her love of mysteries, her second husband, Robert M. Stultz in 2019 and her siblings:  Charles Rollason, Ann (Rollason) Swope, William Rollason, Thomas Rollason and Lois (Rollason) Lockhard.

Rose Marie graduated from Altoona High School and attended Altoona School of Commerce for Stenography.

She enjoyed playing pinochle in her card club, crocheting, reading mystery novels, eating Hershey kisses and drinking hot chocolate made with Ovaltine.  Wherever she went, she left little foil wrappers behind.  Rose Marie could name every person who had ever been on the Lawrence Welk Show and tell you all about their lives. She was like an encyclopedia when it came to classic Hollywood actors and actresses.  She loved John Wayne the most and could probably quote every line from every movie he was ever in.

Interment will be private at Alto-Reste Cemetery.  Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
