Rose M. Selfridge

Rose M. Selfridge, 87, Patton passed away into the arms of the Lord May 26, 2014 at UPMC Altoona.  She was born December 11, 1926 in Patton the daughter of Bernard and Gertrude (McConnell) Litzinger.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband Byron Selfridge, daughter Elizabeth Elick and her Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Cloyd and Mary Selfridge. Rose is survived by her daughter Sandra (Joe) McNulty, Patton; sons Dan (Joanne) Selfridge, Patton; Barry Selfridge, Patton and Richard Selfridge, Clearfield; twenty grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews, especially her devoted nieces Patricia Stoltz and Dolly Litzinger who were so very dear to her.  Rose was the last surviving member of 14 siblings.  She was a lifetime member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton,  was a loving and devoted grandmother, was an accomplished seamstress and could do anything she set her mind to do.  She worked for many years at the Phillips Van Huesen Company in Patton and retired from the Ebensburg State School after many years of service.  At Rose's request there will be no visitation.  A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date with interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Patton and a meal to follow.  If you would like to make a donation in Rose's memory, memorials are requested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice.  We would like to thank the care givers at UPMC Hospital, Altoona, Golden Living Center, Hastings and Dr. John Vasil and the many friends who have helped us all through the loss of our Mother.  May God bless you all.  The arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Inc.; Patton.  (www.stevensfamilyfuneralhomes.com)
