Ronald E. Lysinger, 78, Altoona, was promoted to Glory on Sunday, the Lord’s day, at UPMC Altoona.  With him were his wife, Christine Lysinger and immediate family.  He was born in Altoona, son of the late Alfred and Hazel Lysinger.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Christine; sons:  Ronald (wife Crystal) and Jesse; a grandson, Mason; three sisters-in-law:  Mary, Donna and Patricia Lysinger; three brothers-in-law:  David Brown, David Schott and Eric Schott (With wife Sharon); and many friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by 11 siblings.

Ronald was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army, including serving both as a Lieutenant with his wife, and as a local officer.  After retiring from the Salvation Army, he began a second career as a certified nurse aide working at Skills, Blair Christian Home and Garvey Manor.

In addition to caring for others, Ron was an animal lover who never met a dog he did not like.  He will be greatly missed by his four pawed companion Bailey.

Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral Service will be held following the visitation at 11 a.m. in Stevens Memorial Chapel by Lt. Larry Fulmer. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Ronald’s memory to the Salvation Army, Altoona Corps, 1813 6th Ave. Altoona, PA  16602.
