Richard “Rick” Scott Fagley

Richard “Rick” Scott Fagley of Palmetto, Florida passed away on June 27 at his residence.

He was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Jeannine M. (Lantz) and R. Lee Fagley, and he was the oldest of four siblings including Cathy L. (Fagley) DiPiero, Kimberlee R. (Fagley) Leonard, and Rebecca J. (Fagley) Young.

Rick was a 1974 graduate of Altoona Area High School and also a graduate of Penn State University.

Surviving are his loving partner Carey O’Dell; his mother and father; his sisters and their husbands Dominic DiPiero, Mark Leonard, and William Young; his nieces and nephews; his son, Richard Eliot Fagley and wife Amy Lee; and his grandchildren Katherine Lee Fagley and Andrew Lee Fagley.              

Rick was as outstanding a father, son, brother, and partner as he was a baseball coach, fisherman, golfer, and adviser. He’ll be fondly remembered by all for his wise counsel, his generosity toward his loved ones, his non-conformist style, and his love for the Blues.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a brief service to follow at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc. 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.  Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
