Phyllis M. Fee

Phyllis M. Fee, 91, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Tuesday at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.  She was born in Lakemont, daughter of the late Arnold M.  and Margaret L. (Wyland) Baker.  On April 16, 1949, she married Franklin T. Fee and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2010.

Surviving are two sons:  James E. Fee (Debbie) and Donald P. Fee (Elaine), both of Altoona; three daughters:  Nancy J. Frey of Altoona, Marjorie A. Krupa (John) of Lockhaven and Mary L. Prestipino (Greg) of Woodstock, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Hixson; and a brother, Robert Baker.

Phyllis was a 1944 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1945 graduate of Altoona School of Commerce. 

She was employed by William F. Gable Co. and Radio and Motor Service, Inc.

She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Altoona.  She taught the Luke Rhodes Sunday School class and was a member of the Altoona Alumni Association, the Class of 1944 Reunion Committee, Penelec Omega Club, Holiday Bowl Thursday Senior Mixed League and the assistant pianist for Lutheran Brotherhood at the Allegheny Lutheran Home in Hollidaysburg. 

Phyllis enjoyed music, bowling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018, at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.  A funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Stevens Memorial Chapel, by Pastor Barry R. Folmar. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Phyllis’ memory to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1401 12th Ave., Altoona, PA  16601.
