Pearl H. Kontorchik

Pearl H. Kontorchik, 93, Carrolltown passed away September 2, 2018 at Cambria Care Center.  She was born July 2, 1925 in Carrolltown, the daughter of Lawrence A. and Mary A. (Sczot) Kontorchik.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Amelia Ponczek, Pauline Tulowitzki and Cecelia Korber, brothers Stanley, Simon, Edward and Thomas Kontorchik.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, special neighbors and friends Ken and Norma Farabaugh and their family.  It was a comfort for Pearl to know that Ken and Norma were always there for her and she appreciated the help, kindness and love they offered until her final day.  Pearl attended Bakerton public schools.  She retired as an inspector from the Patton Shirt Factory in 1990 and she lived and worked her entire life on the family farm.  She was member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown.  Pearl’s main interest were her family, relatives and friends.  She was a talented musician who played numerous instruments and sang with several bands over the years.  At Pearl’s request there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown by Rev. Jude W. Brady, OSB.  Committal church cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Carrolltown.  (
