Ruth B. Weaver

Ruth B. Weaver, 95, Hollidaysburg, died Thursday evening at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, Pa. She was the wife of Jack H. Weaver who passed away April 13th 1963. She was preceded in death by her brother J. Edward Brenneman of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and her niece Diane Eshelman of Lancaster.

She was born February 9th 1924 in Frostburg Maryland daughter to the late Frederick Lewis Brenneman and Lucinda Elizabeth Yantz Brenneman. She is survived by daughter Lucinda Ann McConahy, Butler, Pa.; Son John F. Weaver (Rebecca L. Weaver), Pittsburgh, Pa.; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and three nieces.

She married Jack H. Weaver in November 1952 at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church in Altoona, Pa.

She was a 1941 graduate of Altoona High School and Graduated from the Altoona School for Secretaries as well as several Banking curriculums. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Hollidaysburg, where she served as Treasurer and Vestryperson for many years. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society, Ladies Auxiliary of the Hollidaysburg YMCA. She was a member of the Penn State Board of Advisors Altoona Campus and a life member of Hollidaysburg Public Library. She was a volunteer at UPMC Altoona Hospital for over 30 years. For years she volunteered to do income taxes for Seniors, her efforts to volunteer were tireless. She received the George Award for her volunteer work from the Altoona Chamber of Commerce. She genuinely enjoyed helping people and organizations.

She had a long career in banking at the former Hollidaysburg Trust Co. She began her career as a secretary in the trust Department and retired as an Assistant Vice-President. She was proud of her career.

Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Plank, Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery Street, Hollidaysburg, Pa.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Hollidaysburg, 315 Jones Street, Rev. Jeanne E. Jacobson, officiating.

Interment will be in Alto-Reste Park at a later date. The Family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s Memory be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 315 Jones St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
