Marjorie J. Ritchey

Marjorie J. Ritchey went peacefully home to be with her Savior on December 9, 2018 at Graystone Manor at Bellmeade.  She was born on June 14, 1924 in Altoona, PA, the daughter of Charles Metzger and Gladys (Long) Metzger. 

Marjorie married Charles Ritchey on June 7, 1946 in Altoona.  They were married for 69 years. 

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; two brothers: Allen Metzger and Donald Metzger; and one sister, Joyce Davis.

Marjorie is survived by three sons: Stephen Ritchey and wife Carol, Altoona, Daren Ritchey and wife Sally, Duncansville, and Randall Ritchey and wife Diane, Greenville, NC.  She is also survived by six grandchildren: Ginger Cover and husband Craig, Altoona, Daren Ritchey Jr. and wife Gelila, Hyndman, Branden Ritchey and wife Jackie, Morrisville, NC, Marcy Whitt and husband Ben, Elon, NC, Marcia Ritchey, Raleigh, NC, and Mikayla Twarog and husband Jake, Alexandria, VA; and nine great-grandchildren.

Marjorie was a longtime member of Grace Bible Church where she served as pianist for many years.  Over the years she taught Sunday School and VBS, was involved in Ladies Fellowship, Prison Ministry and served in many other capacities.  She also played piano at times for the Central PA Bible Conference.  She loved her Savior, her family and her church.

The family would like to express their thanks to the management and staff of Graystone Manor for their compassionate care and kindness. 

Friends will be received Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 4-8 pm at Grace Bible Church, 164 Laurel Lane, Hollidaysburg.  The memorial service will be at the church on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11a.m. with Marjorie’s son, Daren, presiding.  There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the service.

Interment will be held at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
