Jason A. Kovall, 38, Los Angeles, CA formerly of Patton passed away August 16, 2017 at Kiser Hospital. Los Angeles, CA.  He was born May 23, 1979 in Spangler the son of Kevin and Valerie (Prosser) Kovall.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents Leo and Edith (McConnell) Prosser and John and Pauline (Lumdue) Kovall.  He is survived by his parents, his partner Juan Contreras, Uncle Andy and Aunt Marcia Kovall, Uncle Kevin and Aunt Marleen Prosser, Uncle David Prosser, Aunt Patty McMarlin, cousins Shawn, Linda, Kristel, Maria and Ashley.  He was a 1997 graduate of Cambria Heights High School.  Jason had several jobs in customer service until he got his bachelor’s degree as a registered nurse, which was his true calling.  He enjoyed concerts, music, band, his pets Daemon, Lokey and Miles, going to the beach, reading, bike riding, running, Snoopy, cookouts at home and spending time with family and friends.  He ran many marathons including a full marathon in 2014 and was in the process of training for the 545-bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise money for AIDS research.  At Jason’s request, there will be no visitation.  A memorial service will be held September 2, 2017 at noon at Trinity United Methodist Church, Patton by Pastor Melody Polisky.  Interment Fairview Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Steven Funeral Home, Inc., Patton.  (www.stevensfamilyfuneralhomes.com
