George D. “Butch” Focht

July 5, 1944 - September 18, 2018

George D. “Butch” Focht, 74, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday morning at his residence after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of the late George M. and Thelma F. (Gates) Focht.

He married Marjorie Brown in Altoona on October 19, 1968.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters: Michelle Ann Amos (Steven) of Toms River, NJ, and Jennifer Lynne Neff (Sean) of Hollidaysburg; six grandchildren: Hannah Amos, Catherine Amos, Chloe Amos, Marshall Neff, Joshua Neff, and Hayden Neff; two brothers: Robert and Walter; and three sisters: Bonnie Moyer, Connie Hartman, and Peggy Stiffler.

He was predeceased by a brother, Wilbur.

Butch was a 1963 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.  He retired from Peoples Natural Gas in 2001 after 31 years of service as a fitter leader.

He was a member of the Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren, Sylvan Hills Golf Club, and Juniata Lodge F&AM.

Butch enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, carpentry, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Friday, September 21, 2018, at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at the Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren, by Rev. Marlys Hershberger.

Interment will be in Alto Reste Park Cemetery.
