Donna J. (King) McGuire

Donna J. (King) McGuire, 86, Duncansville, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 3, 2019, at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Woodbury, daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (Sell) Lindsey. She was twice married, first to Joseph M. King Jr., who died July 6, 2003, and then to J. Brian McGuire who died Sept. 21, 2010.

Affectionately known by her family and friends as "Manky," she is survived by two sons: Lindsey King of Duncansville and Timothy King Sr. (Sally) Altoona; two daughters: Pamela Laret of Duncansville and Brenda Reiger (Scott) of Mechanicsville Md.; two stepchildren: Shannon Lombardo (Biagio) in Tennessee and Joseph McGuire (Hanna) in Connecticut; eight grandchildren: Hunter Laret and Tyrel Laret, Ashley Irvin, Chelsea Lattieri, Lindsey King, Joshua Reiger and Jesse Reiger and Timothy King Jr.; and three stepgrandchildren: Polina, Tucker and Frankie McGuire; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was the last of her family.

She was a 1951 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. In 1954, she graduated from the Altoona School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She retired from the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home as an RN. She was a member of the Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren.

Donna enjoyed gardening, camping, and watching the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Pastor Connie Maclay officiating. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.

The family requests that donations in Donna's memory be made to the Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren, 1028 Penn St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
