David H. "Butch" Bearer

David H. “Butch” Bearer, 76, Carrolltown passed away June 12, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born October 14, 1941 in Susquehanna Twp. the son of Harvey A. and Mary R. Bearer.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Mildred Pavia, Mary Jane Bearer and Dorothy Anna, brother-in-laws Daniel Loudenslager and Michael Pavia.  He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy (Niebauer) Bearer whom he married July 6, 1963, children Theresa M. (Ron) Bush, Hollidaysburg, David H. (Lorrie Smego) Bearer, Jr., Carrolltown and Janice Bearer (Wade Patrick), Indiana, grandchildren Sara L. Stotsky, Hannah M. Bearer, Benjamin D. Bearer, Alaina J. Bearer, step grandson Joseph A. (Janelle) Eichenlaub and step grandchildren Lillian and Parry, brothers and sisters Alfred (Loretta) Bearer, Painsville, OH, Clare Bearer, Cromwell, CT, Kenneth (Rae) Bearer, Hastings, Charles (Carole) Bearer, Ronald (Helen) Bearer, N. Cambria, Rose (Patrick) Grimme, Altoona, Margaret Loudenslager, Altoona, James (Karen) Bearer, Hastings, Donna (Dave) Burns, Roaring Springs, brother-in-law Dennis Anna, Altoona and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was a 1959 graduate of Spangler High School and retired as mining supervisor from North Cambria Fuel Company after 44 years of service.  He was member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, Holy Name Society, endowment member of the NRA, life member of the North American Hunting Club, honorary member of Packers Fork Hunting Club, Clinton County, social member of Carrolltown Volunteer Fire Company.  Butch enjoyed hunting, woodworking and there was nothing he couldn’t fix.  He was a man of faith and conviction, who dearly loved his grandchildren and he never turned down a chocolate dessert.  Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 146 North Main Street Carrolltown, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.  Additional visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the 10:00 am funeral Mass, Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown by Rev.
