Margaret E. “Madge” Sherry, 98, Hastings, formerly of Patton passed away January 22, 2019 at Haida Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born January 11, 1921 in Ebensburg, the daughter of Griffith and Vernita (Sharbaugh) Bloom.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John E. Sherry, daughters Rosemary Davis and Marjorie Troy, brothers Jimmy Bloom and Francis “Bud” Bloom, sister Doris Risbon and grandson Mark Davis.  She is survived by children John J. (Patricia) Sherry, Patton, Richard E.

Patricia A. Freeman

Patricia A. Freeman, 75, Patton passed away January 16, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born October 20, 1943 in Bisbee, AZ, the daughter of Joseph J. and Alice (Bobby) Kruley.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gerald J. Freeman and twin sisters Joann and Victoria in infancy.  She is survived by her loving children Robert J. Freeman, Patton and fiancée (Susan Cebula), Boswell, Laurie A. (David) Ford, St.

Mary Ruth Churella

Date of Death: 12/28/2018

Mary Ruth Churella, 90, passed away December 28, 2018 in Pittsburgh, PA, surrounded by her loving children. She was born May 16,1928 in Hastings, PA, daughter of the late Alban and Marie (Strittmatter) Dillon. On June 22, 1949 she married Leonard Churella and moved to Patton, PA. In addition to raising her family, Mary Ruth helped her husband manage the marina at Prince Gallitzen State Park from 1965-1970. They then renovated a farm and created the Crow’s Nest and Country Christmas Shop. Mary Ruth was also a Tupperware dealer for 14 years.

Paul M. Stone

Paul M. Stone, Sr., 77, Patton, formerly of Chester County passed away December 10, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born March 31, 1941 in Chester County, the son of James and Minerva (Blevins) Stone.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and step son Samuel.  He is survived by his son Paul M.

Leo Baranick

Leo Baranick, 87, Ebensburg, formerly of Patton, passed away November 7, 2018 at Cambria Care Center.  He was born March 24, 1931 in Patton, the son of Vasil and Anastasia (Korinchak) Baranick.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers John, Andrew, Peter, Charles, George, sisters Julia McClosky, Helen Ferensic and Mary Mikula.  Leo is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  There will be no viewing.  Funeral service 11:00 am Monday November 19, 2018 at Stevens Funeral

Niemiec, 94, Patton passed away October 28, 2018 at Golden Living Center Hillview.  She was born January 31, 1924 in Patton, the daughter of Eli and Mary (Haluska) Resko.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John J. Niemiec, Jr, sisters Mary Bartell, Verna Dolges, Irene Giudice, brothers Alfred, Joseph, Donald and Fr. Blane Resko, OSB.  She is survived by her brother Dr. John Allen (Magdalen) Resko, sister Lt. Col.

Berish, 70, Patton passed away October 26, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born December 5, 1947 in Colver, the daughter of John D. and Ada (Francis) Kuhn.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Pamela Luther.  She is survived by her husband of 52 years Michael James Berish, children Gayna DiAntonio, Dana (Tim) Herald, Michael (Melissa) Berish and James (Christine) Berish, eleven grandchildren, brothers and sister John G. Kuhn, Gwen (Frank) Legdon and Mark W.
