Gertrude “Trude” Ketterer, 90, passed away Wednesday morning at the Presbyterian Village, Hollidaysburg.

She was born in Westmoreland County, daughter of Jacob W. and Sallie (Rush) Gilmer.  She married Marcus A. Ketterer in St. Patrick Church, Strip District, Pittsburgh, who preceded her in death in June 2001.

Peter M. Lord, 59, Hollidaysburg, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Sunday, May 5, 2013.  He was born in Salisbury, MD on November 17, 1953 to J. Stewart and Katherine (Schroeder) Lord.  He served in the US Navy as a corpsman.  He was a 1972 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and graduate of Pennsylvania State University.

He was born in Altoona, son of Mary (McDonald) Stapleton.  He married Shirley Piper (Woods) who preceded him in death and then remarried to Joann Miller.

Winifred M. “Winnie” McLaughlin,89, Altoona, passed away Monday morning at her residence after a brief illness.  She was born in Hollidaysburg,  daughter of Collins Patrick and Ethel (Brown) Kennedy.  She married William McLaughlin Aug. 20, 1960 in Winchester, VA.

In Pennsylvania, embalming is not required by law except in certain cases.

Must I buy an "outside container," such as a crypt or vault?
Pennsylvania law does not require an "outside container". However, most cemeteries require that one is used. We provide "outside containers" at many price levels.
