Robert W. Keech, 81, Hollidaysburg, passed away Friday morning at Garvey Manor after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born in Altoona, son of the late Richard and Margaret (McGuire) Keech.  On October 1, 1960 he married Mary Ann Moore in Hollidaysburg.

Myrtle E. Strong, 87, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday morning at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.

She was born in Kladder Station, daughter of the late William and Kathryn (Wise) Smith. On Nov. 15, 1967, she married Frank A. Strong in Newry, and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1992.

Surviving are two sisters: Lois Burk of Martinsburg and Mary Westover of Altoona.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Robert and Catherine (Criste) Treese. On Feb. 8, 1958 she married Thomas B. Luther in Hollidaysburg, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 2011.

Merrill Bigelow, Sr., 88, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday afternoon at his residence.

He was born in Juniata, son of the late William and Betsy (Moore) Bigelow.  On Nov. 24, 1952, he married Thelma E. Wray, who preceded him in death Nov. 3, 2013.

He is survived by a son, Merrill Jr. (Regina), of York, PA ; a granddaughter, Megan; and a grandson, Thomas Myers.

Merrill retired as a driver for Lafferty Trucking.

Cynthia Jones, 76, Altoona, died Friday afternoon at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Irwin and Edith (Colbert) Knuppenburg. She married Silas Jones, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Jeremy Nagle and his fiancée, Rashell Simendinger, of Altoona; and two grandsons, Brice and Alec.

She was born in Turkey Valley, daughter of the late Gilbert and Violet (Bice) Harnish. On March 27, 1944, in Baltimore, Md., she married Calvin S. Johnston, who preceded her in death on July 27, 1982.

Janet Louise Nardella, 82, Altoona, passed away Thursday evening at Altoona Center for Nursing Care after a brief illness.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Eugene Anthony and Blanche Alverda (Burket) Spade. On Feb. 25, 1960, she married Raymond Kenneth Nardella in Altoona. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Lawrence Spade Sr. in 2002.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of William and Marie (Noel) Cooper. On June 11, 1972, she married Richard D. Taylor in Altoona. He preceded her in death May 13, 2003.
