Carl E. Lindberg

Carl E. Lindberg, 71, Duncansville, passed away Sunday morning at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Emil and Ruth (Potter) Lindberg.

He married Bonni Bookwalter on Nov. 2, 1985 in Hollidaysburg.

He is survived by his wife, Bonni of Duncansville; son, Erik of Martinsburg; two daughters: Heather Hodge of Saxton and Jamie (Joshua) York of Duncansville; a sister, Ingrid Lindberg of Maryland; four grandchildren: Sarah Hodge, Jonathan Hodge, Abby Hodge, and Jackson York; and a great-granddaughter, Sophia Grace.

Carl was a 1963 graduate of Altoona High School and a graduate of Lock Haven State.

He retired as an elementary education teacher in the Altoona Area School District after 31 years.  He was previously the owner of Jack & George’s and was currently working at Enterprise Rent a Car in Altoona.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg and the Portage Lodge F&AM.

Carl was a donor for Apheresis.  He had coached football at Roosevelt and Bellwood High School and had also coached baseball and basketball.

Friends will be received from 3-6 pm on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg, where a Masonic Service will be held at 6pm.  The Funeral Service will follow immediately after by Pastor John Godissart.
