Cameron James Stevanus

June 9, 2004 – Sept. 2, 2019

Cameron James Stevanus, 15, Altoona, entered into his new body in the arms of Jesus and his daddy on Monday morning at his residence.  He was born in Altoona, son of Kimberly Lenning and the late Jeremy Lee Stevanus, who preceded him in death on June 30, 2019.

He is survived by his mother; a sister, Carmen Stevanus; grandparents:  Dale and Brenda Lenning, Cindy Stevanus, and Jay and Caroline Stevanus; great grandfather, Fay Stevanus; great grandmothers:  Cindy Jodon Misitano and Jean Stevanus; uncles:  Brad (Jen) Lenning, Uncle Dan Navarro and Jamille; Aunt Jasmine Stevanus, special aunt, Debby Keith; and many great aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cameron attended Altoona Area High School and was known and loved by many teachers and SEAs.

He had a love for baseball, celebrating his birthday at the Altoona Curve games, throwing out the first pitch for many years.  He was an avid Eagles fan and played for the Orioles in the Miracle League of Blair County for several years. Cameron loved Halloween, especially with his unique costumes that his daddy and pappy made him.  He brought joy to everyone who saw him in his firetruck, army tank, and Jurassic park jeep with its lights and sounds.

Cameron received a special invitation to the Altoona Fire Station and was featured in a clip from a local TV station.

Born with Cerebral Palsy, Cameron endured many obstacles in his short 15 years.  Through it all, he was loved by many for his beautiful smile and contagious laugh. He brought so much love and joy into the lives of all who were blessed to know him.  He gave a whole new meaning to the word special.  Cameron loved his sister and his cousins and knew them every time they walked into the room.  He could always make them smile.  He touched the lives of so many-our beloved, shining, happy boy.  He was the light of our lives and the star in our eyes. He brightened the lives of every single person he came in contact with. Cameron leaves us smiling through the tears.
