Angelo R. ‘Ralph’ Marasco

Angelo R. “Ralph” Marasco, 85, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona following a brief illness.  He was born in Altoona, son of the late Martin J. and Irene (Bombay) Marasco.  He married Mary Louise Sullivan on July 29, 1954.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou; two daughters:  Deborah M. (Tom) Swires of Altoona, and Kathy A. (Doug) Shaffer of Hollidaysburg; three sons:  Dr. Ralph M. (Anne) Marasco of Hollidaysburg, Thomas V. (Michele) Marasco and John D. (Liva) Marasco all of Altoona; twelve grandchildren:  Kristy M. (Jason) Ritchey, Kourtney L. (Sam) Klock, Jennifer L. (Chris) Kuhn, Brandon M. Marasco, Bradley T. DeDea, Alexa R. DeDea, Seth V. Marasco, Caleb T. Marasco, Jarod M. Marasco, Gianna B. Marasco, Mayah G. Marasco and Kali F. Marasco; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister Rose Marie Marasco of Altoona; and a brother Martin J. (Carol) Marasco Jr. of Altoona.

Ralph was a graduate of Altoona High School and Penn State University with a degree in Engineering.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Conrail as a Senior Supervising Industrial Engineer.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.  He was also a lifetime member of the Buccinese Club, a lifetime member of the Bavarian Aid Society and the founder of R-Way Investments.

Ralph enjoyed sports, traveling to Florida, working in the yard and especially watching his grandchildren in any of their activities.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
